A Short Story: Why This Plant Just Works
Picture a clean corner with soft side light. Into that space, Philodendron billietiae draws a single, confident line upward—long, elegant blades held aloft by striking petioles that glow warm (often copper to orange tones in typical expressions), turning a simple vignette into sculpture. Unlike broad, heart-shaped philodendrons, billietiae reads tall and aerodynamic. Each new leaf rises with poise, the profile staying narrow and disciplined so your room gains height, rhythm, and a touch of drama—without crowding your layout.

A Second Look: The Everyday Payoff
Day by day, this species rewards steady care with crisp silhouettes and camera-ready moments. Leaves elongate, the midrib stays pronounced, and the petioles create a subtle color dialogue with neutral planters and pale walls. This is a houseplant that brings “editorial” energy to real homes: easy to style, easy to keep tidy, and striking from across the room. (Color intensity of petioles varies naturally by plant and conditions; descriptions here reflect common, general traits.)

Summary Specifications (Fast Read)

  • Botanical: Philodendron billietiae (Araceae), climbing aroid
  • Habit: vertical climber with long petioles; narrow, lance-like blades
  • Leaf character: elongated, semi-gloss surface; defined midrib and gently undulating margins
  • Indoor scale: commonly ~60–150 cm (24–59 in) over time with support
  • Best display: on a slim moss pole, coco totem, or cedar plank for a tailored, gallery-clean column
  • Comfort range: 18–29 °C (65–85 °F); ~50–70% RH; gentle airflow
  • Pet note: as with many aroids, keep foliage out of nibbling reach

3-Step Setup (Do This First)

  1. Light (placement): Choose bright, diffused daylight—an east window glow or a luminous zone behind sheer curtains. Consistent luminance tightens internodes and promotes longer, well-finished leaves. Avoid harsh midday sun that can mark tender tissue.
  2. Mix (root zone): Use an oxygen-forward aroid blend: chunky orchid bark + coco fiber/coir + pumice or perlite, plus a modest sphagnum buffer. Aim for airy structure that holds gentle, even moisture without compaction.
  3. Water (rhythm): When the top 2–3 cm (≈1 in) of mix dries, water thoroughly and allow full drainage. A calm, repeatable cadence > frequent sips. In lower light seasons, lengthen intervals slightly.

Level Up (Training, Styling, Fine Tuning)

  • Support strategy: Train 1–2 leaders and secure each node with soft ties. Keeping the stem close to the support shortens internodes and elevates leaf size.
  • Nutrition: Light feeding (¼–½ strength) every 2–3 weeks during active months sustains steady growth without pushing softness.
  • Rotation & grooming: Quarter-turn the planter every two weeks for even exposure. Wipe blades and petioles with a soft cloth so the semi-gloss finish photographs cleanly.
  • Color & contrast: Neutral planters—stone, sand, ecru, charcoal—let petiole warmth and green blades stand out. Side lighting carves a subtle highlight along the midrib and accentuates the leaf’s long, aerodynamic form.
  • Troubleshooting quick cues:
    • Long gaps between leaves → increase overall brightness (still filtered).
    • Edge crisping → review watering cadence and distance from heat/AC.
    • Dull new growth → check feed schedule and ensure the top growth lives in your brightest safe zone.

Why call it "Grovel" when there is no actual groveling?
Format: Kindle
I'm so confused by this story. The title of the book is Grovel and yet the MMCs do not do any groveling at all. They reject her, say mean/cruel things to her and break her heart, but then do nothing to make up for it when she comes back to town. I couldn't stand Frost; the way that he treated her, and women in general, the things that he said to her just gave no reason for why he should be forgiven or be allowed back into Noelle's life. The interactions with Robin and Shepard were a little better, but nothing about this story showed me why she should forgive them and get back together with them. This was a good premise, but very poor execution of a story line. I felt bad for Noelle and what she had been through with these men, but wanted better for her and wished that she could have found a different pack that would actually treat her right and not blame her for the choices that their mother made. In the end, this book just wasn't for me. I liked the character of Nana, I even liked Noelle's parents and felt bad for what Noelle had to deal with, but I just didn't care for the supposed romance that this book was about. Maybe others will enjoy it, but I'll probably pass on any other stories from this author. I gave it 2.75 stars, but rounded up since Amazon doesn't allow partial stars.

The grovel wasn’t groveling.
Format: Kindle
Oh no, if you’re going to promise grovel, you better deliver. And unfortunately… this one fumbled the assignment. Three Alphas who rejected their scent match, broke her heart, and let her walk away for ten years, only to realize she was “the one suddenly”? I was ready for emotional devastation and tearful, knees-in-the-snow apologies. But here’s the problem: the grovel just didn’t hit hard enough. For a betrayal that deep, the emotional payoff felt rushed. The Alphas express regret, sure, but it never quite reaches that gut-wrenching, ache-for-it level you expect from a story built entirely on redemption. Their apologies come, but they lack the prolonged suffering, the desperate proving, the earn it or lose her forever energy that would’ve made this unforgettable. After ten years of heartbreak and abandonment, Noelle's forgiveness comes a little too easily, a little too quickly. You can feel the story nudging her toward reconciliation before the emotional scales are fully balanced. The chemistry is still there, the tension still simmers, and the small-town winter vibes are undeniably cozy, but for a book titled Grovel, the emotional reckoning needed to be deeper, messier, and far more punishing. A compelling setup with plenty of angst and longing, but if you’re here for hardcore grovel and slow-earned forgiveness, this one might leave you wanting more.
